To determine the boiling point of water
Apparatus
- Thermometer
- Beaker
- Bunsen burner
- Matches or Lighter
- Wire gauze
- Tripod stand
- Retort stand
Materials
- Hot water
Procedure
- Set up the apparatus.
- Light the Bunsen burner.
- Make sure that the bulb of the thermometer is below the water level.
- Observe and record the temperature of the water after it has boiled.

Apparatus

- Beaker
Materials
- Ice
Procedure
- Fill a beaker with ice as shown in the diagram below.
- Put a thermometer inside the beaker.
- Observe and record the reading of the thermometer until the reading does not change anymore.
